Hey friends, can you believe we have another month under our belt for 2016? February was a good one. Paul had his 30th brithday! Gahh he is 3 decades old! And I’m not too far behind. We celebrated with good friends and spent a day in Des Moines, Iowa. Have you ever been? If you go you must try Fong’s pizza. It’s this awesome little pizza joint that offers pizza with chinese food toppings. Our favorite is crab rangoon. That’s right, I said crab rangoon pizza! Crazy delicious!
Besides Chinese pizza we ate a lot of other delicious food!
Recipes:
- Chicken Pot Pie Casserole (GF)
- Mulled White Wine
- Homemade Nutella
- No Bake Nutella Cheesecake
- Sriracha Honey Roasted Cashews
- Healthier Loaded Baked Potato Soup

- Thai Sweet Potato Soup with Shrimp
My favorites were Butter Chicken, I made it three times! And of course I loved the No Bake Nutella Cheesecake, so decadent and delicious!
Favorites:
Movie: The Martian. Have you seen it? We rented it and watched it two nights in a row, it was that good! (okay, the second night my parents were visiting). But seriously, we didn’t mind. And no, it’s not about Aliens, which was my first assumption…just watch it!
Show: Downton Abbey. Paul isn’t really into this one, but I have been following along for the past few seasons and couldn’t be more in love with the characters. The series finale is coming up! Is anyone else as sad to see the show end as I am?
Music: The Piano Guys. I am not usually one to listen to instrumental music because I enjoy singing along (even thought I probably shouldn’t for the sake of anyone listening), but Paul recently got me into The Piano Guys. The Piano Guys is made up of a pianist and a cellist, their music is upbeat and fun, they do a mix of classical and modern music! It’s the perfect type of music to listen to while I cook.
Book: Big Magic Creative Living Beyond Fear, By: Elizabeth Gilbert. I am reading this book as part of my morning routine. It has already inspired me to be more brave about my creative work. Even if you think you are not a creative person, you are! Every time you have an idea you are being creative. This book helps us to embrace our creative side. There can never be too many creators in the world! LOVE!
Drink: Peppermint Tea. Paul and I have both been drinking peppermint tea almost every day. Between both of us we finish off a box (20 tea bags) a week! Peppermint is so good for you: it can help digestion, calm your stomach, uplift the spirits, and relax at the same time. Plus it just tastes amazing!
What to Expect:
March means two things. 1) Spring is on it’s way! 2) St. Patrick’s day!
We will be whipping up some Irish recipes and some spring-inspired recipes!
See you back here soon for another recipe!
