Pineapple Green Juice (Without a Juicer) - Pineapple green juice is perfect for beginner green juicers! It's sweet and ginger-y. No juicer required, a blender and a kitchen towel do all the work. Refreshing and healthy! #vegan #glutenfree #recipe #greenjuice | robustrecipes.com this recipe

This is a very exciting moment for me!!!!

I finally found a green juice that I actually like! One that doesn’t taste like I am drinking  a salad. It doesn’t just sit there in my fridge barely touched until I finally dump it down the sink. This green juice I have been absolutely addicted to!! And it’s all because of that pineapple!

About a year ago I shared a recipe for fresh carrot juice, which is really tasty. Since that carrot juice I have wanted to start drinking green juices. I have tried a green juice with only a green apple to sweeten it and give it flavor, also beet juice, and green juice with fennel. All resulted in me choking down a few sips and then eventually pouring them down the drain.

I mean it tasted like I was actually drinking kale. I like to eat kale with things on top and a dressing, but when juiced the bitterness is concentrated….I just can’t do it.

More power to you if you are a seasoned green juice drinker and can handle any green juice thrown your way.

TBH I was about to throw in the towel on my green juice adventure and just stick to carrot juice when I decided to try one more. Pineapple green juice! Hallelujah!!!!

It was like the clouds parted and the sun was beaming into my little kitchen on my green juice experience! YESSSS!!!

That pineapple turned things around for me. It added a good amount of sweetness that balanced out the bitterness of the kale…and tons of pineapple flavor! I mean, how does that not sound good?!

I also included some cucumber which adds a nice refreshing touch and some ginger for a spicy bite! Even Paul liked this pineapple green juice – I was surprised!

Obviously I am no juicing expert and I don’t have a juicer,  for a few reasons. Reason 1: I don’t have the space. Reason 2: those things are expensive. Especially if you just want some green juice every once in a while, just can’t justify it.

Blender to the rescue once again! First we make fresh carrot juice, then we make blender lemonade, and now pineapple green juice!

Thank you blender for being so versatile and awesome!

How to make pineapple green juice in a blender:

  1. Add cut up produce and water to blender
  2. bend until no large chunks remain, but not so that it’s a puree (we’re not making a smoothie here)
  3. pour the juice through a fine mesh siv that is also lined with a kitchen towel (I designate a towel in my kitchen that I don’t mind getting stained)
  4. squeeze, squeeze, squeeze that juice through the towel leaving behind all the pulp
  5. pour that beautiful green juice over ice and sip away.
  6. feel all the good healthy vibes as your body soaks up all those vitamins!

Only requires 4 ingredients and 10 minutes!

Anyone can juice! Even. You!

Okay now that we know the key to making green juice that actually tastes good….sweet fruit such as pineapple, what other kinds can we make?! Yes, I think I may have caught the juicing bug!

Seriously, I know you’ll love this pineapple green juice. It’s sweet and pineapple-y with a nice ginger-y kick. It’s refreshing from that cooling cucumber making it the perfect drink to enjoy during these hot humid August days!

Description

Pineapple green juice is perfect for beginner green juicers! It’s sweet and ginger-y. No juicer required, a blender and a kitchen towel do all the work. Refreshing and healthy!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup pineapple, cut into chunks (more if you want it sweeter)
  • 1 cup cucumber, cut into chunks
  • 1 to 2 inches ginger, peeled
  • 2 to 3 cups kale
  • optional: handful of mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Blend: Add all of the ingredients into a high powered blender. Note: If not using a high powered blender I find it easier to add about 1 cup of ingredients in at a time, blending it in between each set of ingredients. Blend just until the fruit and veggies have broken down but not fully pureed (see picture in blog post).
  2. Strain: Place a fine mesh siv over a bowl and line the fine mesh siv with a clean, lint free tea towel. I keep a kitchen towel on had that I don’t mind getting stained for jobs such as this. Pour the juice into the towel. Gather all the sides of the towel and use your hands to squeeze the juice through the towel, this may take a minute, and a little elbow grease. Discard the fiber left behind in the towel.
  3. Drink: Serve your juice over a little ice, it’s best when cold and drink immediately.

Notes

If you have any juice leftover store it in the fridge in an air tight container for up to 1 day. The vitamins and nutrients in the juice will begin to deteriorate after a few hours. For the most nutrition drink the juice immediately.

I have made a double batch of juice on occasion for the next day. Juice with slightly depleted nutrients is better than no juice at all, right?!

If you have a juicer follow your juicer’s directions and juice as you normally would. You can omit the water

Hey Emily, Iove this article thanks for sharing, I keep reading reviews about Organifi Green Juice but can’t make up my mind because of the price. I understand it has a ton of value which I can kind of justify for the price but then again in this review, http://www.totalbeings.com/organifi-green-juice-review/ they are saying it is great. Would love to get your opinion on it and is it something someone needs when first starting out. Thanks again for the tips. I’m on the fence if I should sign up or not.

Hi Dylan. I haven’t heard of the organifi green juice before so I can’t really give an opinion about weather or not to buy it. I am not a consistent green juice drinker but I do feel that when possible fresh and homemade is always best over processed and packaged products. I hope this helps.

Let me know if you make my pineapple green juice recipe! 🙂

Can extra juice be frozen immediately and then thawed out later and still keep the nutrients? I’m new to juicing so this might be a dumb question.
I just hadn’t seen anyone mention it.
    Thanks!

Hi, I personally haven’t frozen juice. But, according to this article, https://www.juicebuff.com/can-you-freeze-fresh-juice/, freezing your juice is the better option for longer storage rather then in the fridge. Yes, you do lose some nutrients with freezing, but not as many as you do when it’s stored in the fridge for over 24 hours. I would say to go for it.
      Hope this helps. 🙂
