Description

A healthy and super refreshing slushie made using fresh basil, mint, and lemon. Perfect for hot summer days. Makes a delicious healthy dessert.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup packed basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup packed mint leaves
  • zest of 1/2 lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons agave nectar (or sub honey or maple syrup)
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 2 cups ice
  • Optional: Lemon slice and extra mint or basil for garnish


Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients EXCEPT for the ice to a blender. Blend on high until everything is mostly smooth. Add the ice and use the ice crush setting to crush the ice until it is smooth and a slushy like consistency. You may need to stir it a few times to break up the ice. Transfer to a glass and garnish with a lemon slice and/or mint leaves or basil leave, if desired. serve immediately.
