Description

DIY Mint Extract is a great way to use up mint leaves from your garden. All you need is two ingredients and 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup mint leaves, stemmed, washed, and dried
  • 1 1/2 cups decent quality vodka

Instructions

  1. Place the mint leaves in a Mason jar or airtight container. Muddle the leaves with the back of a spoon to help release the oils. Add the vodka.
  2. Place the mint extract in a dark, cool, dry place for at least 30 days.
  3. Strain the mint leaves and pour the mint extract into airtight bottles or jars. Store in a cool dark place and use as needed.

Notes

Prep time does not include the waiting period of 30 days.
