We are officially living that green juice liiiiiife!!!!

Ever since I learned that the key to making a green juice that actually tastes good was to add sweet fruit such as pineapple the ideas for other tasty green juice recipes have been rolling in.

Pear green juice for the beginning of fall!!! With the sweetness from the pears and the hint of spice from the ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg this green juice gives you all the fall vibes in a refreshing way. A win in my book because we are currently having 88 degree days and I’m loving every second of it!

Although, I can see the shift happening from summer to fall. The mornings and evenings are turning cooler, the sun is setting earlier, and the trees are beginning to turn shades of yellow and orange. It’s the perfect time to drink some pear green juice!

Who’s with me?!

Even though I have been juicing a little more here and there I still don’t have juicer. That probably won’t happen until we move into a bigger kitchen. And even then, only if I can justify the purchase by making juice on the regular. For now my handy dandy blender + a kitchen towel still does the trick!

After my fresh carrot juice and my pineapple green juice recipes, you know the drill:

  1. roughly chop ingredients
  2. add them to your blender along with a little water
  3. blend until the produce has broken down (but not into a smoothie)
  4. pour into a clean kitchen towel and use your hands to squeeze out the juice
  5. add a little ice and sip away to healthy feeling vibes!

See, you’ve totally got this juicing thing down!!!

One of my fave things about juicing is that you can use up any fruit or veggies that are about to get away from you. You know which ones I’m talking about. The cucumber that’s gotten a little soft but it’s not totally bad yet. Or that almost over-ripe pear. Yes, juicing is your friend!!!!

This pear green juice only takes 10 minutes to make and requires 7 ingredients. Although, an apple added in there might be good too!

Keep in mind that when making a green juice that is high in sugar from sweet fruits such as this pear green juice that you should drink it with a meal to keep even blood sugar levels.

Since we have removed all the fiber from the fruit and veggies our bodies absorb the sugars faster creating a blood sugar spike. Unlike when you eat an entire piece of fruit the fiber is still there which helps our bodies to slowly absorb the sugars instead of in a rush.

So why drink a sweet pear green juice at all then? Why not just make a smoothie…or eat the fruit?!

By removing all of theĀ  fiber from the produce the vitamins and minerals and antioxidants absorb into our bodies faster because we don’t have to break down the fiber. So cool, right?!

It’s like taking a tasty vitamin lol!

Juicing is great for when you want to boost your immune system, have a cold, or just want another way to get some extra healthy ingredients into your body.

I know you’ll love this pear green juice. It’s perfectly sweet with all that pear goodness, refreshing from the cucumber, and slightly warming from the cinnamon and ginger.Ā  I promise you it doesn’t taste like you’re drinking a salad. You wouldn’t even know that the kale was in there if the juice wasn’t that beautiful green color.

This pear green juice is another perfect green juice to try for beginners – which is still me lol!

Happy green juicng, friends!

Description

Pear green juice is perfect for beginner juicers. It’s very sweet thanks to the pears. The warming ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg gives it that fall vibe.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup cold filtered water
  • 2 ripe pears, roughly chopped (any variety will work)
  • 1/2 cucumber, roughly chopped
  • 2 large kale leaves, stripped from stems
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Blend: Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend on high for 1 minute, or until the fruit and veggies are broken down – don’t over blend into a smoothie.
  2. Strain: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and line the strainer with a clean, lint free kitchen towel (or use a nut milk bag) – I keep a towel on hand that I don’t mind getting stained for these types of jobs. Pour the juice into the towel and gather the ends of the towel together and use your hands to squeeze the juice through the towel, leaving behind all of the pulp. Discard the pulp.
  3. Finish: Add a little ice to a glass and pour the juice into a glass. Drink immediately for the most nutrients. OR store in an air tight container for up to 1 day. The juice will begin to loose its nutrients after 1 day so it’s best when fresh.

Notes

If using a Juicer: If you have a juicer than obviously you can skip the straining steps. Simply follow your manufactures directions and juice as you normally would. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg by whisking it into your glass at the end.
