Description

Chipotle black bean hummus is a spicy, smoky hummus that’s perfect for lunch or any party. Serve it with tortilla chips or cucumbers. Only takes 10 minutes to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can blacck beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce – + 1 teaspoon of the sauce
  • 1 to 2 teaspoon smoked paparika
  • 3/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons tahini paste (sesame butter)
  • salt to taste (at least 1/4 teaspoon)
  • For serving
  • tortilla chips
  • sliced cucumber

Instructions

  1. Blend: Place all of the ingredients the bowl of a food processor. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute. Add 1 tablespoon water if it’s too dry – you may not need it depending on how juicy your lime is.
  2. Finish: Taste and adjust seasonings as needed – more smoked paprika for more smoky flavor or more chipotle sauce for more spice.
  3. Serve: Serve with tortilla chips and or cucumber slices for dipping. I like both because the chips allow the full flavor of the spicy and smokiness to come through while an occasional cucumber helps to cool off the heat.
